NEED to MOVE ON

We want to be in the Bay of Cadiz by 9th August the latest therefore we have to move on!

We stopped in a beautiful and isolated bay North East of Ibiza, but the rolling motion of the waves, which were entering the bay made it too uncomfortable to stay. We had an excellent sail towards the South of the Island and headed for Formentera. Hoping to stop at Puerto del Espalmado and playa Trocados with its 4 miles of white sand and azure blue water, where anyone in bathers is overdressed. The skipper had hoped to test his new binoculars but too many boats and rough seas sent us looking for a quieter spot to spend the night.
The next morning we took the decision to move on to mainland Spain, although the wind, in the right direction, would be lively. We had the best sail of the year so far. At time 35 knots, 60 degrees to Port and we close reached all the way to Cala de la Fontana, at Cabo St, Martin. Although we were on the protected side of the headland the strong winds were coming vertically downwards, which made picking up the buoy difficult with tempers rising.
The Spanish coast viewed from the sea is horrendous. The man made concrete jungle too ugly to contemplate. All for the sake of greed and a quick buck. The coastline is mountainous and beautiful but at every opportunity, where the land allows it disfiguration has taken place, to the point that mountains have been blasted out to make more spare. Needless to say we did not touch land for a week

More shocks awaited us when we rounded the San Jose point, plastic took over the land. Acres upon acres of white plastic where vegetables are grown for the European market. Vegetables at Tesco and the like will never be the same, for us it will always symbolize the rape of a fair country

A white rock enclosed by grey limestone.
Any Geologist out there who can explain?

We moored Scorch at Almerimar Marina, whilst we will travel inland.
