Despite near Siberian weather condition and British Airways threat of strike, Rowena, Paul and Ralphy landed on Christmas day, in Grenada, bang on time.
We had such fun with them. We celebrated New Year British time (8p.m local) and were in bed by 10 p.m. We saw our first Green flash on New Year ’s Day, that must be a good omen..... as well as having a Blue Moon in December.
Sunset just before the Green Flash
Ralphy’s hand on approach to wildlife and enthusiasm for life is such a delight to watch.
Too close for comfort!
The competition as to who was going to cook the best curry was on. We had some amazing meals either on Scorch or in the Hawker’s villa. Caribbean Restaurants are expensive and the food not the best. Rowena and Paul got very excited at the wonderful fresh spices we can purchase in Grenada, also known as Spice Island. Therefore as true Gourmets and Gourmands they went home loaded.
Unfortunately their 2 weeks with us went far too quickly. They were swimming in hot sunshine in the afternoon and for contrast the next morning they were snowed under on their return to UK
Our 2009 resolution to learn Spanish has progressed, we are on lesson 3 in our text book. Perhaps 2010 will see a great spurt. Waiting for the inspiration, I am enjoying myself making Bunnies (including designing their wardrobe) for our grand-daughters.
We have become very fond of these little guests
Meanwhile we are relaxing , reading through our large book collection whilst waiting for our friend Caroline to join us for 3 weeks, on 5th February before wemove on Northwards.
